I want to walk through some thoughts to battle that thinking. Creating on the iPad is different but it is an effective creation device. The very nature of the device itself and how we interface with it provide for a uniquely creative environment. Effectively creating on the iPad requires a different workflow from traditional computers. Once users get proficient with that workflow, the iPad becomes an amazing creation device!” Not even sure why this was a topic, to me, the commercial make it very obvious that iPads are good at creating. There are millions of apps. Plus, I have seen how people can draw and do things just as easily as if they had a tablet or something. I mean, it is lovely he showed how to create on an iPad and how it could be effective. This is something an educator could present in front of the school board to try to get iPads in their district or building. Personally, I like have an actual laptop to work with but I do like the fact textbooks are on iPads and educational games. I do just want students to realize there are other ways to be creative without depending on a machine to do all the work for you. I think an equal balance is healthy. […]
